I have a 10gallon tank that will become a lps and sps "medium" reef. I want to start dosing kalkwasser but 1 I don't have a ato (I manually top off daily and 2 I don't want to spend the money on a real dripper for it. What would be an cheap way to dose kalk?

I use kalk in my jabao doser to act as an ATO. I just figured out my evap rate and set it up to add the correct volume.

Just add and stirr in the kalkwasser to you top off water, even better make a bucket of top off water and kalkwaser and stirr the bucket a couple of times and dip from the top, then there will not be the cloudiness when topping off.

With Kalk, the evaporation rate increases, so you may want to reconsider.
Most kalk drippers are gravity fed, like an IV in the hospital, so there's a lot of different rigs to do the job. Basically an upside down bottle with a valve.

MY .02, an inexpensive ato is a much better idea.

I just used an old jug, a piece of ro/ di tubing I had and a valve. To make it even cheaper I just buy the Mrs wages pickling lime at the grocery store!!

The price point is so low I would doubt it. They generally start at $60 to 100 there.

I did a diy version of the one I posted a few years ago for far cheaper and I just have to change the pump ($4) from time to time and the sensor from time to time($6 for 5)

I just started using kalk a few weeks ago and best investment by far. I use a JBJ ato. Have not had to dose once since started. I'm at 1Tsp per gallon of top off water.
