Was is the maximum ml you can dose kalk before you have to start looking into 2 part for your tank.

I'm not sure on the ml. But I believe it's about 2 teaspoons of kalk per gallon RODI. Most mix it into their top off water. If that doesn't keep the levels, I believe many keep doing the kalk and dose the 2 part when it needs correcting.

The maximum realistic amount depends on your daily evaporation rate as that is the limiting factor for kalk use. A good way to use kalk is to dose a fixed amount of saturated kalk to keep a stable alk level. As your alk needs increase, you just need to raise your fixed dose amount, but you can't exceed the evaporation limit.

You need to account seasonal changes to the daily evaporation rate. Some people even use fans blowing accross their tanks to provide more evaporation for kalk.

I actually just had this same issue hopefully someone else can chime in with more knowledge but the most you can dissolve is 2 teaspoons per gallon unless you mix it with vinegar you can dissolve 3 teaspoons per gallon. Personally, I mix 5 gallons of RODI with 3 teaspoons per gallon of kalk and I use 45ml of vinegar per gallon. This still didn’t keep up with my tanks demands though so I also dose 25ml of 2 part daily but this method has worked very well for me. My tanks loving it!

You can replace all evaporated water with saturated limewater (which is about 2 teaspoons per gallon of fresh water). If you evaporate 1% of the tank volume daily, that adds about 1.15 dKH and about 8 ppm of calcium.
