Hi So i got my parameters at what I want. I got the BRS pharma kalkwasser. How long should i mix it? What ATO do you guys use? Thank

I mix mine until it’s dissolved into the water ....about 5 -10 minutes or so. Let it sit after that. The straw is about an inch above the bottom of the dosing container. Don’t want the slurry on the bottom. There should be a layer on the top as well. Don’t disturb that either as it will help keep the air out. You just want the clear solution in the middle.

I’m using the aqua duetto but I would imagine any ATO would do. It will be hard on the ato pump so expect them to fail earlier

Just started dosing kalk yesterday. I'm using a tunze top off. I mixed mine for about 10 seconds and let it sit overnight. Following this thread for sure as I'm new to this and could use all the advice I can get!!

Will add that a lid will help with expiration, and even with skin that forms, and lid, it will start to loose potency after a week, so only mix that much at a time.
Once kalk settles, water is clear, slurry on bottom, it’s ready to dose.
I use a hydor smart level. It’s tricky/finicky to set up, but has worked well for several years now

I dont think mixing more than 10 seconds is necessary or desired. Mixing it too long might create insoluble calcium carbonate. I mix mine for 5 seconds and thats it.

I use a Tunze 3155 with the Tunze 5074 calcium dispenser inline. It doesn't impact the life of you pump since the Calcium hydroxide is in the dispenser not your reservoir.

Anyone use a dosing pump for kalk? I have a inexpensive kamoer pump and was contemplating not using my ATO to avoid / prolong any ATO failure.
