Hello, I am currently in the middle of my cvue 40 gallon build. This will be a SPS tank https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?ur...&share_tid=535389&share_fid=1020&share_type=t

I have always dosed my systems with dosers in the past, I wanna try something new on this tank. I want to introduce a kalk stirrer in the beginning(when water changes alone arent getting the job done anymore) and learn how to utilize it, to it's best capability. I dont want to put kalk in my ato because I dont wanna risk messing up my tunze pump.

What is the ideal way to running a kalk stirrer properly, and what equipment (pump) do you reccomend?

Pictures and ideas on how you guys and gals run ur kalk stirrers would be greatly appreciated below.

Thanks so much,

Arie

You could run your ato to the kalk stirrer. That's what I do. That way, no kalk going through the pumps.

Do you need a pump attached to the kalk stirrer as well? Or does the ato push it all on it's own?

How many times a day do you have the kalk stirring, and how long do u do it for?

I have my kalk stirrer on all the time. I have my ato running directly to the kalk stirrer so when the ato kicks on, the fresh water flows into the kalk stirrer. Then, the kalk stirrer overflows (as designed) to top off the tank. It's just something I came up with to avoid more pumps and precipitate ruining things.

My ATO pump pushed fluid through the stirrer and into the tank. My stirrer operated 24/7 at a very slow speed.

Thanks, I seen people putting them on timers and running maxijets.

I like the way ur doing it. seems like less of a headache.

Thanks for replying

I’m using the avast kalk stirrer on the output of my ATO pump and been very happy with it. Others make them also.
