I have been thinking about switching from two part dosing to Kalk I just don't know how to start dosing it via drip or ato an how much to dose for my tank any one have expertise in this matter

I've seen many people just add to the ATO which I will do once things come together start slow and go from there. Following also for info.

I use a jebao dosing pump and dose kalk at night to keep PH steady. I started mixing 1 tsp per gallon and dosed small amounts until I found the sweet spot.

I would look into using a kalk stirrer controlled via Apex or ReefKeeper if you've got one. It's much easier to control the account dosed and keeps the kalk mixed. In my experience using kalk via top off is inconsistent (somewhat dependant on set up, house temp and lighting.)

I've used limewater for 20+ years and I think it a good way to go. Both dripping and an ATO works fine, but an ATO with a big reservoir (I use three 44 gallon Brute cans plumbed together) makes it a lot less work.

You can use this calculator to determine how much you need to replace how much two part:

I just started with ATO, I have small usage of Ca and Alk so I use a total of 2-3 tsp of kalk with my 5 gallon RODI. so far so good, # stay consistent. I manually dose Magnesium with Red Sea supplement every 2-3 days

How much MG is your tank consuming to dose that much?
Just curious-

I use 2 teaspoons per gallon in ATO with 40mL per gallon vinegar. Ca = 380, phos and nitrate = 0. Mrs. Wages pickling lime is cheap.
