I am new to using a doser and just set up a Kamoer F1 to dose all for reef. The Kamoer web site has tutorials but the new F1 is not listed. Can anyone confirm that my schedule looks correct?

I want to dose everyday from 12:00 noon to 6 pm. 25 ml total per day. I think I have it correct but I’ve been wrong before many times ;)

From the looks of it, you have it set to dose 25 ml at noon because you only have one plan? I think you should make maybe 10 plans and have it 2.5ml per time instead of dosing 25 ml all at once. Maybe I’m wrong lol

That’s what I was afraid of happening. I figured out how to prime it and calibrate it but the schedule I’m not sure on.

I expect it to break up that 25 ml over 6 hours…. It asks me to set a start/stop time and then how much to dose.

You have to go add a plan for every time you want it to dose. If you want to dose 25ml over the course of 6 hours, you could make 6 plans to dose 4.16 ml every 1 hour for 6 hours for a total of 25 MLs. Or you could break that down even more, make 12 plans that dose every half an hour at 2.8 MLs, 2.8 MLs every half hour for 6 hours is 25 MLs. Does that make sense?

Add plan -> 12pm dose 2.8ml
Add plan -> 1230 dose 2.8ml
Add plan -> 1300 dose 2.8ML
So one and do fourth until you get to 25 total ML, the time intervals you want it to dose is totally up to you.

that’s the best way I can explain it to you. Keep messing with the controls and you’ll figure it out. It’s mostly trial and error. Make it dose small amounts at first and track it before you starting dosing huge amount so you know how the doser works, makes for less room for mishaps. Best of luck to you

It does. But just because I’m curious. Why does it let you have such a large range of time if it only doses once?

You can adjust the range to whatever time you want. It can dose from 12pm - 6pm or it could dose from 11am - 10pm, you control everything in that app. When I ran a doser it dosed 24/7, I had it dosing small small amounts every half hour for 24 hours. In 24 hours I would a total of 8mls. Every tank need is different so all the fine line adjustments have to come from your end.

that doser should let you dose as many as 30-40 times in a day if you wanted…. There is a cap on how many times it will let you but last time I checked, it can run for dozens of doses per day in any time range you want it to dose.

Thank you for your time and explanations

No prob. I would play with it for a bit before I let it run alone. For instance, have it dose half a ml every 15 mins while you sit there for an hour and observe it. Make sure it’s really dosing half a ml every 15 mins and make sure at the end of an hour it only used up 2 MLs in increments of 4. Good luck to ya. Dosers are awesome.

Excellent advice. I have to be away all weekend and I thought this would be better than having someone dose for me. I’ll definitely play around and figure it out. I know the calibration is right so I guess worst case I can do one dose once per day this weekend… as that’s how I have been manually doing it anyway.

Maybe mine is different as I can only set 24 doses in 24 hours, all I do is click the plus sign, enter a name I want to call the schedule and enter how much AFR I have left, then press enter, then I click quick set, I then enter how many times a day I want to dose, and the total amount, that’s it.
On mine it does have a quirk tho, if I choose an amount to dose that doesn’t divide exactly by the number of doses, it will round up or down, so for example, if I choose to dose 5 ml a day, but choose to dose it 6 times a day, it may only dose 0.8x5 which is only 4mls, so you need to be aware of this if you go to increase your dosing amounts, it clearly shows the amounts to be dosed so you just need to check on the drop down list view of the upcoming doses.
You may make a small increase or decrease but the doser may still only dose the same amount if you again choose an amount that does not equally divide by the number of times a day you choose.

Thank you for this. I did delete my previous plan and used the quick add. Much easier for sure. I currently have it set for 25 ml total with 5 plans for 5 ml each hour 5x.

How are you liking the F1? It seems to be so new I can't find much about it. Not even any review vids on YouTube yet that I can find. Considering the F1 or the Red Sea 4 doser. I'll eventually need four but could do with just one for now. I like how you can add the F1s as needed.

I really like it. I’ve never had any other before this one to compare it too but so far all is great. Once I figured out from above help, how to set up the schedule it’s simple.
The app is user friendly. My one complaint is that it does not hang or attach.. so I made a simple shelf inside my stand for it alone.

Mine continually double dose and each scheduled interview. You don’t have this problem?

also I reported the lacking tutorial for the f1 to kamoer and it’s now available in the app. It’s just the quick start guide that came in the box though.

I do not have this issue. It looks like your plan has some repeated doses. Did you set the plan that way or is that your problem.. that it added a repeat on it’s own? 01:29 and 04:29 for example

That’s the problem, there are not repeat doses scheduled. It’s scheduled to go once at every half hour (30 not 29)
