Anyone out there use this dosing rig on their setup? I'm wondering about things like reliability and accuracy. $380 for 4 pumps is spendy on a per-pump basis, but since it includes the ability to program each individually, etc, it's probably less than getting 4 "dumb" dosers and the equipement needed to make them run on a timed basis.

My one concern is that if something goes wrong internally, all 4 pumps are dead, vs just losing one if going on a unit-by-unit basis....

I'm tagging a few R2R members I know run this unit so hopefully they can share their experience with you.

If you're a fan of the Kamoer brand, an alternative you might consider is the X1. They are single Bluetooth-controlled dosers that are only $60 apiece. You can also daisy-chain up to 4 of them together on a single power supply.

My concern with the X1 is it appears that motor heads aren't sold for it, so a failed head will require a new unit vs a new head.

Ive been using it for a few weeks, dosing Ca, Alk, and an EasyReefs Food. So although I can’t yet vouch for the long term reliability, it seems like a nice piece of kit. Was easy to connect to WiFi, calibrate pumps, and set a schedule- exactly what you would expect.

It also seems heavy duty. It’s housing is made of relatively thick gauge metal, none of that plastic you see with cheaper hardware. Like even Apex has shifted to plastic housings on all their devices, instead of their older style which was sheet metal.

The fittings are also REALLY tight- it’s *almost* difficult to get the tubing on. But because of that it doesn’t suck air like DOS or Jebao dosers tend to do. Many people have to modify their DOS with John Guest fittings to get rid of the air leaks— won’t be an issue with the F4.

I didn’t open it up and peek at the insides though—- if you like I can ;) . See if they used a conformal coating haha

The engineer in me is curious about the innards...esp conformal coating and what kind of protections are in place between the motors and board, etc
