I was thinking about getting a Spectrapure litermeter pump to use for my ATO on another tank and realized the Kamoer FX STP 2 doser is more or less the same price.

The literneter does not have a controller and I will be using my Profilux controller to turn it on/off. Running at a steady 250ml/min, it can be a tad bit noisy. Then take the Kamoer FX STP 2 continuous duty doser which you can control flow rate for, allowing me to tune it and a lower flow rate like 50-100ml/min will be quiet.

Only concern being if the Kamoer would be able to handle several on/off cycles every day. Is the "continuous duty" aspect of the kamoer related to its ability to run hard or is it also because the internal electronics werent meant for frequent on/off cycles?

Unless the LM4 changed, my LM3 can dose as low as 50mL per day to 26 gallons per day. Always on, it runs the daily dose divided into every 9 minutes. I imagine you can set your total daily dose request and run it at that volume.

The standalone litermeter with built in control can have flow adjustments but the peristaltic pump itself that you buy to use with a profilux or apex is just an on or off function at max flow.

I attempted to do this with a Kamoer, im finding when the apex turns it back on after an overnight off cycle it defaults OFF vs back to the continuous flow rate it was running at, and I have to manually turn it back on which is highly annoying and won’t work for this purpose.
