Kamoer fx-stp non WiFi model

I have a Kamoer fx-stp that I bought used from someone on our forum. I tried to use it today. However I can’t get it to run faster than a crawl. I have turned the speed adjustment knob and it does nothing to speed the pump up. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

That doesn’t sound good for me if that’s what it is. I imagine the seller knew something was wrong with it when he sold it. Hopefully someone has a solution to fix it.
