I just bought the KAMOER continuous dosing pump for my calcium reactor. I plugged it in, pushed the button to calibrate 50ml/min, put the top tube in a glass of water and put the bottom tube in a measuring cup. Then i pushed the button again to get it running and VIOLA! Nothing comes out. What am i doing wrong? I’ve been at this all day and it’s driving me bonkers. I’ve watched an endless amount of you-tube videos and it appears that I’m doing everything right so why can’t i get any water out of this thing? Who wants to help me figure this out?

I may not be understanding the problem. So it won’t draw water from the measuring cup to calibrate? If the head is spinning but no water is moving, either there is an imperfection somewhere in the inlet side drawing air which prevents the suction of water, or there is no pinch happening to occlude the line.

If it is your first time filling the reactor and using it, and it’s working as it should, it will take some time to prime the lines and get the excess air purged. I have to hold the prime button on my masterflex at 600 ml/min for a good 60+ seconds to get the reactor purged and the lines fully primed after Reactor maintenance.

So i got the KAMOER figured out. It’s working as it should. But now i have another issue. I have a Pinpoint pH controller. What goes in the two outlets in the back of it? The pinpoint didn’t come with any cords except for the regular one that runs the machine. Thanks for all help!

There should be a power plug wired to you solenoid. When current is applied, the solenoid on your CO2 regulator opens, when current is cut off, it closes. Thus you are controlling the flow of CO2 based on the reading of the pH probe of the controller.

Can you post a picture of your CO2 regulator and the solenoid?

How do I connect these two? And to the calcium reactor?

These are what I have.

Though I don’t have that pH controller, as I use an Apex, I’d imagine it would work similarly. Just plug the power cord on the CarbonDoser into the outlet on the pH controller.

As I’m not familiar with the specifics of the Pinpiont pH controller, is there an outlet on the controller itself, or perhaps an outlet on the back of the controller’s power adapter (wall wart)?

Okayyyyy. I got it now. I feel like an idiot. I thought the regulator was supposed to plug into the wall outlet.
There are 2 outlets in the back of the Pinpoint controller. I just hope that the solenoid plug fits. These outlets look kind of weird. Setting this calcium reactor is going to be so much fun. DOH not! Thanks so much for your help. Stay tuned. I may be back. ;)

I guess if the OP had posted how he had resolved the issue , would have saved me a couple of hours. But here is how to fix this in case someone else runs into the same problem. And believe me theres not a lot of documentation - so someone will.
See this below - you need to ensure that the plastic is against the spring. When you receieve it new, the plastic is against the black metal thing. YOu need to change that otherwise it will not dose.

I can’t tell you how much this post helped me finish setting the pump up today.

I was sat for 30 minutes thinking why is no water coming through the pipes. I tightened the screw up, no effect.

As far as I can see there is nothing in the instructions telling you it comes packed like this and you need to change it, but you do.

Heres the manual and the only ‘clue’ is a picture with the plastic part and spring changed around. No mention of doing it.

OMG!!!!!!!!!! I had the same issue, I was getting ready to return it.

And I encountered that after the APP not connecting, main reason I bought it. So I decided to run it manually. Ive had the previous version since they came out but the display screen eventually becomes unreadable.

Thanks for posting this.
