Hi all, we are looking to purchase a doser, does anyone have any experience with the Kamoer X4 wifi?

Looking for reliability, and programability.

I am about to setup mine today.

First thing I noticed is the need for additional tubing. The supplied tubing may not suffice for a number of people so may be best to get extra tubing just in case. The tubing is smaller than the standard 1/4" size. I just asked BRS where I can purchase additional tubing for this. Not sure if Neptune Systems Tubing for DOS Dosing System will work just a well.

We purchased the koemer...it's still in the box.
When BRS answers could you let us know?
Thanks!

Of course! We're in this together.

Luckily for my first attempt with automatic dosing, I will only need buffer for alkalinity and Calcium which should provide enough tubing for this.

This uses standard airline tubing you can pick up at any pet store. The Dos uses the same size line. I use RO line for some of my dosing lines which have the dosing container out in my garage

Odd. And you have the Kamoer X4? standard airline tubing I thought is also 1/4".

I am confused then. From what I an see when I compare the pump inlet and outlet, the X4 tubing is much smaller size compare to the stanard RODI or 1/4" tubing. Here's a pic of what I am seeing in front of me.

Below the blue tubing is RO/DI. Clear tubing is the X4 tubing which came with the unit.

I got mine at home depot.
It was pink , I think it was fuel line .
Much nicer than the included line with the doser .

@fishcrf450r - did you ever get the unit setup on your wifi?

I spent over 2 hrs trying and just gave up for now as I will just connect directly instead

I local club member bought this unit. Just uses standard airline clear tubing The fittings in the pump are standard issue press fit connections.

Just received a response from BRS...

The key here is the inside diameter of the tubing 1/8":

Outside Diameter: 1/4"

Inside Diameter: 1/8"

Now if I can get the darn thing connected to my wifi sooner rather than later would be great.

Your question about X4 WiFi Dosing System - Kamoer has been answered.

Your Question: Where can I get additional tubing used with the Kamoer X4? The tubing is much smaller than the standard hardware store vinyt tube of 1/4". Thx.

Answer: The tubing connections are fairly small. I would recommend the Drew's Doser tubing as this has a thicker wall and smaller inner diameter.

At this point all I got to say is OMG!!! Freaking frustrating....

I finally got the thing working like I like it after spending nearly 1/2 day tinkering with this thing. I got the dosing calibrated before I got the wifi working...go figured.

For those who have yet to set this up, let me save you the pain and frustration and the satisfaction I can at least help someone else out without having to painfully got through the same ordeal.

Recommendation:
  1. DON'T BOTHER TO SETUP CONNECTION TO YOUR WI-FI via the APP (iOS or Android)! You have been warned. If you like being frustrated...please go ahead. I won't even go into the potential bugs and lack of software development user experience here as the list is extensive..
  2. BEST TO SETUP CONNECTION TO YOUR WI-FI via a laptop/desktop via a browser. Here's how:
    • Connect to the DEFAULT WiFi - "KAMOER-X4-xxxxxxx". Enter the password "12345678"
    • Open your browser to "10.10.100.254"
    • Login as "admin"
    • Password as "admin"
    • You are then presented with this "nice" Chinese screen. Just change it to English - top right corner.
    • upload_2017-5-19_14-45-15.png

    • From there I would recommend you change the items on the following tabs to your needs: Work Mode, STA Setting, AP Setting, Account. Keep in mind after each change and save, it will have to restart. This is just like configuring your router.

    • My suggestions is to make all the changes across all the tabs I mentioned above FIRST...LEAVE "Work Mode" Tab LAST. The main reason why is once you have all the settings done, you can just switch it over from "AP Mode" to "STA Mode" or if you like "AP + STA Mode" although the last seems unnecessary and open yourself to risk.
    • Once your wifi is setup...MAKE SURE YOU GET THE Assigned IP address as you will need that to setup your mobile app to connect to the device under "Network Setup". My suggestion is to MAKE IT A STATIC IP ADDRESS by Disabling the "Obtain an IP address automatically" and enter the IP address to your liking.
    • Reference the "PC Use Guidance" document on the mobile device if you like more details on the different items. They're mostly self explainatory.
That's it...enjoy your device :). Just wished I got paid by Kamoer for doing this service...;)

Ah that is quite complicated.

There are basically two pieces: web and mobile. The mobile app seems to have some kinks in connecting to home wifi. From what I can tell, it doesn't offer the same functionality as the web piece. The mobile app is only used to administer the dosing pump. The web is only used to administer the wifi...same as a router. After a few hours I understood [emoji31]

Wow that is pretty messed up, Chinese???. I was looking at them for when I do dosing in the near future but that is off the table now. Guess I will look harder at the GHL offering now.

It could use better documentation for sure. Once I got it up and running earlier today it works well even when I unplugged it. The settings were saved and it resumed normally when plugged back in.

This is my first doser. I got this as I understood it they specialized in this not just for aquarium but for the medical fields so the reliability of their unit should be there.

Once you figure out the setup it should be forget and let it do it's job.

One feature I particularly like is if you get their container, it has the liquid sensor built in so the unit will know when it's low or out as I noticed it tells you how much liquids you have and when it is anticipated you will run out based on your dosing units...which I think is pretty kool.

There is also a temperature sensor which I am not clear how I should use that.

hey I have the kamoer x4 doser, having a problem setting it up. Stuck in update mode after a failed updated. How do I get it back working?

Any updates on this dosing pump? Still wifi issues or did they fix with updates?
