Kangaroo peristaltic pump for Calcium Reactor

Does anyone still uses the old Kangaroo peristaltic pump?

Due my low budget, Im planning to buy a Kangaroo 324 from eBay ($50 - $60) and make it “Reef Ready” (not a problem for me), do you think its worth it??

I’ve heard them recommended, but I forget what needs to be done for reefing.
