Does anyone else have a problem with outlet schedules not working sometimes? I have my lights scheduled to turn on at noon, and off at 8 pm. However they just randomly turned on at 3 am. Sometimes they will not turn off either. I have to manually go in to the app, and do it. If anyone has figured this out it would be awesome to know.

Sometimes this happens if you are outside your wifi area in your house or you need to download the update for it... these were the issues I had when using the kasa smart plugs...

I had the same issue with my kessil using the plug... try logging your account off on the kasa app and unplug the strip for 5 mins and plug it back in and logon again... mime worked after doing all this... For some reason it loses settings every now and then...

Yea I am definitely going to try that if my schedule doesnt work again. What a pain right?

I use their plugs. I integrated Kasa with Alexa, setup a routine under Alexa to schedule the plugs and it works flawlessly.

I've had the issue on a few occasions over the last 9 months. I just unplug the power strip for a moment and plug it back in and it resumes as normal. I think it has to do with a connection issue to the wifi.

So far today it turned on at the right time. We will see tonight.

who has something critical plugged in? I thought about putting my return, skimmer, and heater on one so I could shut it down easily for maintenance, and I already bought it. Lights coming on randomly doesn't seem as bad as a return going off randomly.
I wonder if having the routine through something else (alexa, google, hubitat) makes it more robust.

From what ive experienced I would never use this for something critical that requires a schedule.

I have there switches and plugs all over the house. I have only ever had an issue with one plug, and it does not do anything randomly, just does not respond when I send a command. In that case I do know it is due to the WiFi being on the verge of the edge. Usually it works, but when the stars align, and a solar flare hit, and the wolf howls... it skips a beat.

It has happened 4 times in 5 months. The light randomly turning on, and or not following schedule.

Yeah, thats odd. And you said you checked for firmware updates, and have reset it. Only other thing is make sure the time is synced, and it is keeping the correct time. Maybe it is in a different time zone or something.

I only trust my lights with it in terms of scheduling. Nothing else has turned on or off etc, but everything else is ALWAYS on or off no schedule.

I have been using a Kasa strip paired with Google home for almost 6 months. The only item on a schedule for me is also the lights, but I've haven't had an issue yet.
I am using the kasa app. What is google home.

I have a skimmer, light, UV, return pump, wavemaker and heater plugged into the power strip. I only programed the light and that is the only issue I've had. For me its been roughly every 3 months that the light schedule doesn't work and I need to unplug the power strip to fix. I manually turn the others off daily for feeding and never had any issues with them.

Same here.

I have lights, pumps and dosing all programmed with the power strip.

Everything has worked fine for about 9 months with one exception. I don’t know if I mistakenly clicked a pump on, or if it was a programming malfunction, but one of the dosing pumps stayed on and dosed all my Alk solution. Luckily not enough to cause a major issue but went up to alk of 7 to >11.

I blame myself because it has not happened again in past 3 months.

I am extra careful in the app now and double check everything is off that should be off.
