Keep Kessils or go with hydras???

If you want to go hydra, go hydra.
Back to my original post, I would go with 2 52's then 2 26's.
I love my hydras and I think they are a great light.

Nice tank!!!

Which bar do u use I've been looking at the reefbrite led to add to my ati t5 fixture
I am in the UK and bought from a UK marine lighting company and come in sizes 24". 36" and 47" lengths . They don't come with a manufacturers name but have 3w bridgelux leds. I have not seen them for sale anywhere else apart from that company so I guess they are made for them.

Here are the spec's they give.
UK marine lighting bring you the Marine Reef LED lighting bars. Available in Mixed Reef and Enhancing Royal Blue and both are available in 3 different sizes to fit aquariums from 3ft to 5ft.

These Marine Aquarium LED lighting bars are made from high quality materials with advanced heat sink
material to absorb the heat from the LED's making sure the 3 watt Bridgelux LEDS run on and on to
their full capacity of 50,000 hours.

With the latest technology in aquarium LED lighting these units are made to the perfect spectrum for enhanced colour in your Corals and fish and are suitable for most light depanding corals including LPS corals and are also perfect for fish only.

Each unit comes complete with hanging cables and hood mounting brackets so these lights can be installed under the hood of the aquarium.
Although condensation proof we advice to protect your LED unit from any forms of salt creep and water damage by keeping the units dry and clean, this will make sure your getting the full performance from your LED lighting bar.

Enhanced Royal Blue LED Lighting Bar Spec :

3 watt Bridgelux LED's
120 degree LED lenses
Advanced high quality heat sync
Perfect size for installing under aquarium hoods
high quality power driver
Hanging cables
Aquarium hood mounting brackets

LED Spec 36 inch unit :
Mixed Reef : x20 460nm Blue

Available Sizes :
24", 36" and 47"

I'd say it depends on what you're trying to accomplish within your reef. Both have proven qualities. Pick the best for your set up. I run kessils, with the spectral controller. No complaints here....

Ill never buy Kessils again. Really bad experience with their AP700. $1000 later and I wish I had gone with Radions. I have always liked the A350 and have 2 A360w which I liked less. But the AP700 sucks so bad I'm done with them.

Personally I would stay far, far away from AI. Their customer support is horrible. I would say with kessils or go radions.. You will regret buying AI if you have any issues that require support.
Just an fyi when you call AI for service you actually talking to ecotech marine customer service and if you send for repair you will send it to their facility in Pennsylvania. Sent mine for repair and got it back good as new.

I've only owned Kessils, so I can't speak on the Hydras. I run the AP 700 + two 160 Tuna Blues, and 6 T5's over my 150g. 2-14000K Aqua Blue , and 4-True Atinics. Colors and coral growth are great. But its the Shimmer that makes everyone jaws drop.

What set up do you have with the Kessils and what type of corals?

I have Kessil Ap700s and 360WEs. I initially had three 360WEs over a 220, then sold two of them to upgrade to a 300 with 2 AP700s. The third 360WE is in my frag tank.

I love the Kessils. If you're thinking of buying 2, I would strongly recommend spending the extra money and buying the AP700. You can view other posts I've made to see how my corals are growing. I will soon be buying another AP700 as I want to turn my 300 into a heavy SPS tank.

As far as the shadowing issues I keep seeing people post about, I haven't noticed it. I have more trouble finding low light spots in the tank for my low par corals.

Can't comment on the Hydras, as I was only considering Kessils or Radions for my purchase. BRSTV has a YouTube video where they provide in-depth coverage of the most popular LEDs. Check it out if you haven't seen it.

I think that's a wise choice. Your corals will tell you if you need to change your lighting.

That's super nice
That's exactly what I'd like to achieve. The vibrant colors and the growth. I do understand that other factors come into play. Do you those anything? I've been dosing for a week now reef energy and reef coral colors both from Red Sea. Manually....
