so I finally decided a bicolor angelfish will be the star of my 65g fowlr tank. I plan on having a pretty light bioload with 2 bigger fish and 3 small ones rated for 30g minimum. Ideally I would keep a lemon peel angelfish alongside my bicolor as 2nd relatively big fish. I am aware this choice would go against recommendations of keeping only one angel in a tank. I still would like to know if anyone has succeeded in keeping 2 adults together and what would be the best way to limit agression should I test my luck. Thanks

Bicolors are stunning in appearance; I love mine. That’s why I probably would never risk a second angel in my 6’ long 90 gallon. But maybe other folks will think differently. Have you thought of a Yellow Eyed Kole Tang as a tank mate?

I love tangs and will upgrade to a 125g next july just to own one. But am aware they are a lot more active than angels that’s why I settled for juvenile angels in the meantime. Just looking for a medium sized mate for the bicolor and love the lemon peel almost as much so I’m hoping it could work out somehow but am open for suggestions of an equally beautiful medium sized fish that’s not a tang.

I believe 2 would work if added at the same time.

Not sure about the 65 as that would allow for much territory, but I wouldn’t hesitate doing it in the 125.

There are some stunning fairy wrasse in the 4-6” range for a
Second larger fish. Just read up on each one thou evause some require some serious space as well.

Makes sense. Then I guess I should just wait for the 125 to add the lemonpeel. Frustrating how almost every fish that catches my eye tend to grow so large. For now am set on an orchid dottyback & a blue reef chromis to go with it. I need 2-3 more stunning fish that could remain in my 65g after I set-up the 125. Open to suggestions but please don’t say clowns I see them everywhere xD

I have a trio of azure damsels.

They are super colorful and very active. They are as mild a damsel as you can get.

I have a super peaceful tank and they are not a problem

Great! Love that fish but many advised against it because of agression.

What are your tank dimensions?

I might say clowns :) something about a harem of clownfish just gets me so excited! Check out my harem build thread and maybe you will change your mind! In my signature.

Just PMd you
MSB; you have time to post on this form and you don’t have time to respond to my question about two pumps purchased two weeks ago. Rerun the funds and stop lying to people.

@MSB123, I’m using a 1/2” glass frag tank as a DT. 6’ long, 24” wide, 12” deep. Rocks are in the center so fish can swim totally in front and behind, with turn-around-room on each end. Still a work in progress.

I have five drawf angels in my 120G, which has been set up for 11 months. All were added at the same time. Three months later, I added 3 yellow tangs & three Hippo tangs and three Scopas Tangs. Scopas Tangs were not well received by yellow tangs and I put Scopas Tangs in a differrent tank. All is well with their behavior as they graze on macro and tube worms in substrate.

WoW Nice tank :). I’ll be turning this 65g in a qt after all but nice to know I can try this in my newly purchased 92g.

With most fish, it is best to add peaceful fish first. Semi aggressive fish are best added at the same time. In that manner, resident aggression is eliminated.
