I was just thinking about it. Would there be any Benifit to once a year or so add a small piece of live rock to the sump? Not the live rock you find in the bins at the LFS but the stuff that’s farmed in the gulf with lots of growth on it. My LFS calls it premium live rock. Something to keep the biodiversity fresh. Or are there any products similar to the pod cultures you can add to keep your pod population fresh?

I think it would be helpful. I know PaulB just adds mud and stuff from the bay he lives by. There are bacteria in a bottle products as well as probiotics you can buy.
Here is Pauls thoughts on dosing stuff:
I only use Balsamic vinnegar, in my salad and put my vodka in orange juice, sometimes I add a little Galliano to make a Harvey Wallbanger. I have no idea what a MB7 is but I do have an IPod.
I also don't know what kind of bacteria I collect under my boat but I would imagine it has some PCBs in it. Maybe that acts as a coral stimulator.
I realize many people add all these things so I guess they do something. It just seems odd to me that in all these years, I never had to add any of that stuff.
An MP7 sounds cool, I drove an M-60 tank for a while, I don't know if that is the same thing although I think it would rust in a saltwater aquarium. So what exactly is a MB7 and is there an MB6 and 5?:spit:
