I can keep any type of coral alive and thriving but in this tank my Achilles heel are clove polyps, anyone have an idea why? Want to add some to my new tank that's replacing this one but need your help on why they just don't like me.

Alk 7.2
Calc 450
Mag 1400
Salinity 1.026
Nitrates vary from 5 to 25
Phosphates don't test
Water temp fluctuates in the summer between 78 to 79.5.
Thanks for quick response

Have you noticed any fish nipping at them? Firework Cloves were the "starter drug" that set my Foxface down the path of coral annihilation.

What do you see as it dies off? Is it covered in anything? Is it receding from one side, the polyp tops, the whole coral? Do they melt, or do they fall apart and drift away? Where have you tried placing them?
Sorry for the barrage of questions, but there are many many factors.

No body nips them. Havnt tried any in a long time gonna try some when I get the tank's transfered. They just sort of stop opening becoming smaller then gone.
