I just make one with the clear 1/4" mesh you can find from amazon or other aquarium stores and screen materials (frame and rubber) at Home Depot or Lowes.

Many hobbyist do it like this.
The cost from BRS isn't that much for a piece of mind.
BRS have monthly GB on here and you'll save some money when you get in there.

+1. use the window screen frame, spline, and 1/4" mesh netting. works great!

working on my screen now, only issue is the radion mounts and working around those! :/

I have had to make some funny shapes too. Better than nothing. Especially with wrasses.
