Keeping mixed saltwater

I have about 5 gallons of mixed RC that I had leftover from last week in a brute can that I left the power head off the whole week

If I mix in another fresh batch of rc and let the power head areate the water for 24 hours will I be good to go?
Or should I just dump the week old still water

I think you'd be fine... I've left mixed saltwater for up to a week without flow.

Assuming it doesn't smell funny or look green.

I agree it should be perfectly fine. Many guys, including me, store saltwater much longer than 5 days without issue. Go for it!

i've even stored used salt water for long periods and had no ill effects.

And for the record salt does not come back out of solution all by itself. It may seem funny to think about, but continually mixing salt water will actually cause some of the elements to come out of solution over time, so leaving leftover/extra salt water just sit still, but covered, is the best way to keep it .
