Keeping multiple royal grammas?

Yes. They live in loose aggregations in the wild. I have a pair in my tank that have been doing well for well over a year.

Get the small ones. How large is your QT? Have plenty of pvc hiding spots. Watch them carefully as when fighting they like to lock jaws.

I was going to put them in the 20. I also have a 40 breeder, but its occupied at the moment.
A 20g may be a little tight for 3 or 4. I had 3 in a 20g long and they started fighting the moment they got together. They are relatively peaceful fish to other fish but can be like Pittbulls to each other. You may want to wait until your 40g is available.

yeah, Im leaning that way. Thank you.

Hi there i have a 48x24x16 deep blue 80 gal rimless and only have green chromies (12) and Royal grammas (6) never any problems or issues. The key like comments above is getting them as small possible and putting them all at once!!! Good luck, the grammas when just one or two are extremely shy fish, but in school or group are just awesome, really cool personality.

So you have 6?? I would love to do that. That's more what I was thinking.

I have three. No problems. I purchased them from Diver's Den -they sold them as a trio. They were small as suggested. They have grown and 2 stay close together most of the time. The 3rd one joins them at times during the day but is more adventurous/bold.

Currently have six as well, but they've only been together for a couple of months. They went through QT together and are currently in my 400. They all congregate loosely together in the big tank

Following... they are beautiful fish. I have a 300dd so I'll see how it goes for you

I had 3 in my 120 gallon reef and they all had their own hang outs near each other. In my new system I am planning to get another group and they might be the first fish I put into my system.
