I’ve heard that keeping sps is hard and see a lot of reefers that do; they always have a lot of very expensive equipment and stuff. What do you actually need to keep sps? I have a few sps mainly Montoya pots but I am talking about a fully sps dominated tank.

I don’t have a sump so no protein skimmer, no fefugium, no reactors, non of that. Also no auto dosers or any of that either. All I have is an ATO and a very overkill canister filter. I use kalkwasser to Alk and Cal. So that only, could I keep one of those types of systems?

Light, flow, stability in a mature system. Doesn’t need all the tech.

You can do anything an automated gadget can do, as long as you have plenty of spare time.

Would I recommend it? Nooooo.
