Keeping the display tank clean during cycling

Have a question about cycling I see people cycling there tanks.. tips to accomplish this I know lightning plays a big part. So should you not use any white light and only use blue or no light till it completely cycles. ( I transferred to a larger tank using my live rock and new live sand)

No light is needed during cycling unless the rock is live with coralline or other desireable things. In that case, just light it with whatever you plan on setting it to.
