Keeping wrasse from jumping and other fish

I have had several fish take a keep of faith that didn't end well wile some made it because I watched it happen but I noticed when having a light on at night blue or red all night it seems to help . keeping the light low to not keep the tank awake but bright enough they can,see seems to help a lot !! Also any time I think there may be aggression from adding a new fish I out a net over the tank for a week or to . and when there is a illness in the the take that may agitate the fish I always put a net over it and it really helps a lot any other tips out there !!

If you wish to keep wrasses, the tank must be COMPLETELY covered. 1/4" clear mesh works well.

If the head fits, the fish fits. Don't leave any gaps.

You can't keep them from jumping, you can only keep them in when they jump.

^^^Agreed. BRS sells a good kit to make a mesh cover for your tank. I just went to Home Depot and bought a window screen kit. It's pretty cheap and easy to do. Keeps them in the tank no prob.

+1 on BRS screen netting. Lost a beautiful blue jaw triggerfish to jumping and decided that would be the first and last fish to jump to it's death. Gotta watch out when doing maintenance too. Seems like some fish know when to make a bolt for freedom.

I bought a nice wrasse last week so I made a screen top also. I used a window screen frame and brs screen.

Buy the screen from BRS and the rest of what you need from Home Depot or Lowes. It's much cheaper that way.

I dig the screen top and what brand of mount is that for your lights? They look like radion 15's. I hope so. That's what I have and I'm deciding on mounts.
