So for a while now I've been putting chlorine in my collection bucket cause it was so smelly and disturbing to see (for my eyes when cleaning)! It takes about a month to fill 5g bucket and dosent stink or look like poo water :)

Sorry always forget to add pics

Very interesting. I don't have a skimmer with an overflow but if I get one I will keep this in mind. I hate cleaning that stuff out.

You can always drill a hole in you collection cup and make a 1/4" hose drain to a bucket. I did that with a 65g coralife hob skimmer. Saved me lots of cleaning time :)

My homeowner would never tolerate that much skimmate in the house XD

Why don't you use the lid, and just poke a hole in there to let your drain line in?

Did it too, still stinks and I never know when to change it, and sometimes my tube would get clogged. With the chlorine, never had that problem

I just empty my cup once a day while I have the pumps off for fish feeding.
