I have had my neo therm heater unplugged and out of the tank for the last 2 months. I can’t see any good reason to keep them plugged in when it’s 90+ outside and 77 inside my house.

Do you?

No, I have them plugged into a controller I trust a lot more than me remembering to plug them back in. It's also a little cooler here so I only see the 90 degree heat a couple weeks out of the year.

I turn it down to 72 and leave it there. Unplugging your heater can be dangerous, what if you have a cold night or week of rain and your tank starts to cool?. Your heater should have an internal thermostat so it won't heat up unless the temp drops below the setting. Heater failures are an equal risk (temp goes up) as unplugging it.

Same, I leave mine plugged in otherwise winter will come and i'll forget to plug them back in lol. Between the apex and the internal thermostat on the heater, if the tank it at temp, it shouldn't have power going to it :)

I hear ya. I too have an apex controller but I still don’t trust the neo therm

I would be extremely happy if the temp drops below 70 here in sunny Florida lol

It was 71 in my house this morning....I boosted the furnace up to 72 before I showered;Woot.

I keep mine set to 78 now. I have yet to turn on the A/C downstairs or upstairs for that matter.

I also have a ranco controller...still sitting in the box.

Man, I never considered that might be an option. With our humidity if you have your AC set on 77 you will be sweating like a hog. My heaters are probably more necessary in the summer when the AC is set on 72 than in the winter when the heat is set on 74. :D

Yea my AC is set a lot lower. 75 during the day 71-73 at night depending how hot I am. So I keep my heaters on to keep the tank at 79/80 where I like it

Mine are kept plugged in and still turned on as I keep our home at 70 degrees year round.

I keep mine on in the summer we run the AC in the house a lot because of medical reasons and where the hoses are for the intake and return next to an air vent it really cools the water almost like a free chiller
