Boy, that would stink. Personally I hardly ever use carbon anyway. Never could tell any difference if I used it or not.

I could. My tank had soo much organics that even after scrubbing my hand 5 times it still stunk of fish. Now since running ROX I no longer have that issue.

As for carbon use; 1+ to Toxic's statement I use it and can tell a difference in clarity and less gunk in the tank

On a related note their is a grooup buy going on through BRS which has good carbon.

I've used it at different times over the years. I do keep some on hand just in case I need it. I run a little ozone for an hour in the middle of the night and that keeps the water sparkling. I know most people recommend carbon on the output of the skimmer when using ozone but it is such a low dose I have never had a problem. Some people are scared of ozone but it is pretty safe unless you use a huge amount.

I have plenty of pods. I have a pair of fat scooter blennies I have had for a couple of years. Well, one of them doesn't count since he will eat anything including flake food. I am using a Red Sea Aquazone 100mg/hr set at about 50%. To keep the water clear I only have to run it about an hour a day. When I first got it I had it on overnight the first night and when I looked at the tank the next morning it was noticeably clearer.
