Kent reef salt

I am using kent reef salt since four years and always the water would clear in few hours of adding salt (RO/DI) but the last batch I have takes 3-5 days to clear up , should I wait for it to clear up or can I add after 12-24 hours , I also noticed a drop in alk after my last water change

I wait for it to settle. It may just be smaller particles of calcium carbonate that take longer to settle out, but there's no reason to add them.
