I know the back story behind Kent moving but what are the differences between the two? I wish i could find the directions for tech m but I am on a maintenance dose of 3ml a day and that is perfect. Reef basis's directions say I should dose between 9 and 11 ml a day!

Could someone maybe put the suggested directions from Kent Tech M here so I can compare?

Are you sure you even need it? What are your readings, i.e. Ca, Mg and Alk? In all the years I've been in this hobby, with regular WC's, I've never had to dose Mg.

I hardly ever do water changes. So the dosing keeps my mag at around 1500.

And actually once i figured out my dose I stopped testing. Haven't tested my water in years. All I know is my corals look great and grow well, I don't have hair algae any more and when my dino egg monti starts to pale a bit, its time for a water change. I'm very happy with the stability of my tank and thats why I'm so concerned about losing kent m.

Kent Tech M Directions for Use:
Important: Shake well before use.

The preferred method is to test the magnesium level in your aquarium first and then add Tech•M at the rate of 1 ml per gallon aquarium capacity per day to bring the level to between 1250 and 1350 ppm.

This will raise the level by 18.3 ppm per day. As a routine supplement, add two teaspoons (2 capfuls or 10 ml) per 50 gallons tank capacity every week in all marine systems.

Talked to Jack kent this morning. What a great guy! This is what he told me..
" Reef Basis Magnesium is only slight stronger at 75,000 mg/l whereas the old Kent product was 70,000 mg/l (ppm)." So if I continue on my regimine, there should be no issues.
