Kent TechM for bryopsis

Ive been looking online for a way to kill bryopsis and keep coming across info about using Kent TechM magnesium supplement. The idea is to raise the magnesium to about 1700 for a few weeks, then do water changes to bring it down while removing the dead bryopsis.

Has anyone done this? I have a few LPS and three BTAs in this tank. Will magnesium at that level kill that stuff? Are there any other bryopsis solutions?

This is a tried and true method people have used for years. Consensus was that it was not actually the magnesium that had the effect but some other element in the Kent TechM as other magnesium supplements did not have the same effect. High Mg levels from use in this procedure did not seem to cause adverse effects, but proceed slowly to ensure.

If my memory serves me right i think the formula for the Kent M tech changed a few years back and it no longer kills bryopsis. Have you tried Vibrant? Or H202?

Any online vendor. I know the saltwateraquarium.com sells it.

Thanks. I am sure that manual removal and peroxide will do it, but I have anemones attached to this rock. Taking them off could damage them but I may have to. Will the peroxide kill anemones?

Fluconazole is cheap, easy and proven to work. Peroxide may work and may not. Also seems very time consuming if you need to remove the nems....

Yep... and BTAs have a tendency to wander. These guy have been in the same spot for months and are happy. I tried to brush the stuff off with a toothbrush and it did nothing. I’ve put in some vibrant but I’ll get some fluconazole too.
