I'm soon to start cycling a jbj 28g nano. I have a RO filter in the house, the LFS guy said I should use Kent's Marine RO right. I didn't see any indication for use with SW...anyone tried this?

He also said I'd be better off with a 50w heater in the 28g nano, would this work? I planned on putting a 100w in the 28g and using the 50w for water change bucket.

No, you don't need that. Your salt mix will provide all the buffering you need. The heater size is dependent on your location and homes temperature. In colder climates it is better to go with a larger heater, or two smaller ones for redundancy, in the desert SW we can get away with lower wattage.

Thanks for the reply.

I figured he was just trying to sell me on another product. Right now it's -20 out so I think I'll stick with the 100w. (house temp stays on 74).
