Kenya Tree Coral is good or bad?

Planning get a kenya tree coral in my LPS and softies tank. What are the precaution I should take or should not get kenya and why?
Getting an small frag as per the pic attached.
I really want to get them but also dont want my tank to crash.
My current tank status as below.

If its the brown variety id stay away they drop babies everywhere. The one in the pic though looks like the good green variery or even colt coral which wouldnt be bad at all.

Just a nuisance. It won't crash your tank.
Had them years ago. Wouldn't bother again.

Green and the pink nepthea from Japan (looks almost identical except pink) are great. There is a blue, bluish base with regular reddish brown tips. Kinda nice.
No experience with it.
There are a few amazing softy tanks in R2R. One of them has a blue Kenya tree in it.
Based on the rest of that amazing tank I consider it a stamp of approval. [emoji846]

Green and the pink nepthea from Japan (looks almost identical except pink) are great. There is a blue, bluish base with regular reddish brown tips. Kinda nice.

The green are $40 US and the pink are 60 to $90 US.
Neither is supposed to turn into a self fragging mess.
They need to be propagated.

The basic pinkish tan is $5 to $10 US local. Self fragging mess hard to give away.

But $30 US online.
Price for generic invasive softies online is a minor crime.
Plague stuff you wouldn't wish on an enemy is $20 to $40 online.

How much did you pay for it?

Your pic is definitely too early to tell for sure.

The key is the color of the polyps.

They remain the same as the stock on the pink nepthea.

On the regular pink/tan self fragging mess the stock will be pinkish tan but the polyps will be straight up brown, just like the polyps on the green one are.

It is remotely possible you acquired one of the blue ones. Which are a definite step above the regular self fragging mess.

It just drops too many babies everywhere once it has settled in.

Those pretty palys (pandora?) in the front left on the sand are something I would worry about more.
And as long as you keep them a few more inches (7cm?) away from your main rock work, I wouldn't worry at all.

That is a huge chunk of Kenya tree for that price. Nice! Could even be green.

Will have to wait a week or 2 to see it open. Just keep it on top of the sand for now. Any flow, any light that you have should do well. Maybe lower flow and moderate light.

Even if it is regular Kenya tree you can enjoy it and just get rid of the babies a year from now when they start happening.

That are some palys in red color but dnt know the Id. It was gift so I forgot about it.
I kept kenya on high flow and medium lighting.
Just wait for it to open nicely I would upload an video soon and share the link. Added a gift 1 head dedro sun coral and bright red Goniopora frag.

Sadly I lost it in a tank crash a few months ago. It was huge tho and beautiful man. I had a goby that would perch in it and check everything out. One of my favorites. Never dropped any babies tho

i just got a green kenya tree on friday, just a little baby that was floating around a tank at the lfs he gave me for free and it has like tripled in size already.. looks cool, though!
