My Kenya tree (very small freeby off of a live rock purchase) is not looking well.

Setup -

46gal tank
Tank = (2) months old
(8 gal) Sump w/ skimmer
Water = RO/DI water only
Salt = Instant Ocean Reef Crystals
Vortec MP10 - random mode - max 50%
Lighting = Kessil A160WE x2 (recent addition, see below)
Ammonia = 0
Nitrates = approx. 0
Temp = 78F
Specifc gravity = 1.023
Live sand = (20 lbs)
Live rock = (25 lbs)
Live stock = (2) turbo snails = (15) days in tank - active, good condition
Live stock = (5) nassarius snails = (15) days in tank - active, good condition
Coral = (3) Zoa frags - (5) days in tank - full bloom, good condition
Coral = (1) colony - unknown bleached polyps from live rock - (45) days in tank - growing, full bloom.
Coral = (1) Kenya tree - small stalk - (45) days in tank, it was growing until (2) days ago...
Feeding = (1/4) Mysis cube per week, (1 sq in) algae for turbo snails per week.

Some brown diatoms on sand. No green algae

Recent changes
Cheap-O LED strip lighting to Kessil A160WE x2 - in tank (5) days.
(10-12 hr) photo period. (100% blue)/ (5% intensity) - Starting very slow acclimation.

Is the Kenya tree missing the cheap "white" light?

Once the tree lays down is it over? Any chance of a comeback?

Feedback, advice, opinions appreciated.

Mine does the same thing, very randomly i might add. give it a week and I'm sure it will spruce back up. They are really hardy coral, so if it dies, something must really be wrong. But your parameters look just fine.

Best of luck, thenanoreef

BTW, heaven for bid you have a power failure, but if you do, your over flow will empty all the water up to the overflow from your DT into the sump. which i don't know if an 8 gallon sump will hold that much combined with the water in the sump already. Just some food for though

Definitely on the list of upgrades. I did drill the siphon break hole on the return nozzle, but have not done a trial run yet.... Thanks for the feedback

You'd have to ask the guy you got the rock from, what was the Nitrate level in their tank. Your is 0, and I know they don't much care for that clean of water.
