hows the spread on these I have a 48 inch tank. wouldn't be sure if I would need all 3 or not?

If you have a 48" aquarium it will likely have a single center brace. If that is the case a third LED would not really have an ideal mounting spot. Two used over a 75/90 would be ok if mounted high enough. They are pretty blue so plan accordingly if interested. I am a big fan of LED/T5HO Hybrid, which would help out a lot with color and spread if you went that direction.
