Kessil A160we light

Am I right in thinking the A160we doesn’t benefit in anyway from the spectral controller X over the previous spectral controller?

I believe you are correct. If you have the newer “x” version lights you want the newer controller. But for the regular “we” lights the older controller is good.

Thanks, just cancelled off my order as I already of the older controller…was all excited to try the new colours out thinking a needed the new controller.I would have had to gone for the A360X then, which for a nano would be a little much!

I have the same 160we with the x controller I can not get it set up. It does not acknowledge the lamp count

Oh great, so you’re saying I could have issues setting it up! I get it tomorrow, I’ll post back.

If I end up needing the X controller the shop will think I’m daft, cancelling then reordering it again. Might just go for the dongle instead if my controller doesn’t work.

No I am just not great with all the bells and whistles of automation lol . Hope you can get it set up and working please keep me posted. From what I understand the x controller with the 160we will not let you choose colors. I cant get anything set except the time lol

You do know you need to keep the controller plugged into the light? I ask because I didn’t know this at first, took me a day to realise.

Misread your post, I see now, you have the X controller…it looks very complicated to set up a program from the videos I’ve watched on it!

Think the only models with the extra colours are those with an X in their name, so we miss out, tbh I doubt I would have used them anyway, can’t think I would want a violet looking tank lol

I do have it connected when I first got it some posts described the lamp count not showing up on the controller but I did not understand the setup. Not many instructions on the 160 with the x controller good luck with the old one I should have went that way

This is nuts. The light came with several different cables. Silly me for thinking the 0-10v cable that came with it and plugs into the controller would be adequate! lol I guess I'll search for and buy another wire. What a PITA! I'm getting a little grumpy these days due to starting...

That is the one that confused me. I have the phone type adapter and it powers up. Where I am confused is if you really need to buy another 0-10 v cord as one does come with it thanks for the help
