I am wanting to use 2 of these on my mixed reef but am having difficulty finding actual PUR on these lights. Most people measure the par on kessil with an apogee par meter but they are not sensitive to the blue range and do not detect light under 409nm, therefore par readings using these sensors on kessil lights are almost useless. Does anyone know of the PUR on these lights or have used them on a standard 75g mixed reef? The 360's are not an option and I am not looking at other lights.

I had 4 then 5 on a 90g and they grew all kinds of corals including acroporas. 2 might work 3 would for sure. I don’t have a par meter but the results speak for them selves as far as being powerfull enough to grow corals and clams from the bottom to the top.

No doubt that many would work but I am limited to 2

For whatever reason people seem to expect more out of Kessils than other lights. A160s are 50 watt lights a 75 lit by 100 watts of LED is rather low light. Regardless of your brand of choice most everyone would use 2 90 watt LEDs for a tank this size. 2 a360s, XR15s, or Hydra 32s would be a better fit.

I feel that since PUR is not really used that it is hard to say what the true power of their lights are since common PAR meters just don't work well for kessil.

I am a huge kessil fan and agree that Kessil does not measure as well on a PAR meter as some other lights.

However as a kessil fan I am tired of people not giving kessil a fair shot. I hear people say the coral grew better under my XR30s than my A 360s only to find out they did a 1 to 1 swap. Of course 180watt lights do better than 90 watt lights. Spacing and wattage for kessil should be no different than with any other brand.

After checking more with what kessil recommends, I think I would need the a360we for my tank.
