Kessil a360w

Whats the difference between tuna sun and tuna blue ?

With the 360 there is no difference per say, same fixture, but you can adjust the color between 10k to 20k.
I have 4 360we on my 120, and they grow corals and look amazing. As others have said best color pop and shimmer in any led I've seen. Keep in mind the awesome color blend of this light also makes it lower par (<100 @ 24"), so depending on what you want to grow, you may need more than one per 24" x 24" x 24" cube as recommended by Kessil.

Well my plan is to also have 4 T5 retro fit bulbs as well as 2 kessils.
Your going to love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Do your 4 - t5's but don't be surprised if you only need to run the 2 outer ones with the Kessil's in the middle of the t5's

and for added kessil irony I use the 360 we tuna blue to run my freshwater tank. its just set to the 10k setting. plants explode lol.

I've been running Kessil 360s since November 2014. I'm sorry to say I can't comment on coral growth bc I've been dealing with Dinos since then. But I will say I love the 360s. I've never owned any other types of LEDs so can't compare. Probably the biggest added benefit is there amazing customer service. Hands down the best and I've benefitted from it greatly more than once since I purchased them. Enough to make me a Kessil customer for a long time.

yep and I bought mine heavily used, discounted, which is why I chose the reef version over the correct freshwater tuna sun version (found no equally discounted fw versions) but it doesn't matter at all. 10k grows plants mad. its low heat, no more changing 80$ MH bulbs yay, best purchase for me too. the owner I bought from used this about 4 yrs I hope it has lots of life left on it for me.

Unless you have a canopy don't ruin the sweet aesthetic the Kessil cannon lends with the clutter of t5s.

I have the ap700 which i think is similar to 2- 360's, blend of light is incredible, have over 36" tank and its edge to edge light at 10" above

I'm torn between 2 a360we or 1 Ap700 for a 36"X 18" tank. How do you like the ap700? Heard so much about issues with ap and that you can only upgrade firmware via windows base sys. Any good or bad opinion on this light? I'm also considering adding at least 2-4 t5's with the kessils for a sps tank.

I have metal halide but a friend of mine has 4 of the 360 on a 6 ft tank and he keeps sps alive but growth is not great

They are great lights. I have 3 on my tank 60X24x24. Two narrows with a wife in the middle. The BEST thing about kessils is that their blue channel is always tuned to give close to optimum spectrums of light for our corals. Our eyes are unable to accurately detect that kind of light. Also as a Kessil owner you get wonderful customer service. I highly recommend them. Low heat. Silent. Amazing shimmer.

what would be the proper setting or the most recommended light intensity as and color as well. i've been running a kessil a360w i have it under 75% color and about 10% intensity. i feel like it gets too bright if i go 50% on color and 50% intensity. i have a 45g tank with lps,sps mixed tank mostly lps though.

I had t5, then I tried the typical led black boxs. Then I upgraded to AI hd lights. I thought I was done. Then I got a chance to set up a Kessil a360we right along side my ai 26hd... the shimmer was AMAZING. I'll never run anything other than a kessil just on the shimmer alone.
Thos 360 are some very high end pucks. Kessil just released a newer model, the 360x which is said to be 20 percent more powerful and offers a wider spread than the a360. The X also has more control options and can go much lower on intensity than the a360. The a360 is too bright as a moon light. The new 360x can be used as moon lights.
But the 360x is about $430. The a360 have come down in price, especially from those switching over to the new 360x model. So you find a nice a360 used for about $200 to $250, if you look hard enough and are patient.

If anyone is interested in the difference between the a360we, the ap700 and the a360x, I did a quick comparison including par measurements. I am really happy with the 360x. I run 3 of them with the narrow reflector to minimize light spill and amp up the par. It is a pricy combo. I would say a T5 Kessil combo with a360we would be a great value right now.

Just turning the dial to the whitest setting, great for plants for sure
