Anyone out there know of common issues other than dust accumulation/power supply failures that cause the light not to turn on? Called Kessil and b/c I’m out of warranty, it’s either send it in for $100 service + s/h or scrap it. I’ve opened it up but no sure what I’m lookin at. Just seems a waste to throw out since the LEDs then selves are good. Also, as good as Kessil has been on customer service, what good is a light w/a projected 50,000 hr life if the rest of the hardware isn’t rated for that? I always cleared the heat sinks/fan vents of dust every month as part of my tank routine. The unit was never abused nor run more than 3/4 intensity for fear of frying my corals. It was off for a night cycle and when it should have come on, it didn’t. Any/all info appreciated.

From what I read you have it on a timer did you try plugging into outlet direct, if you have more then one switch the power supplies and if not make sure supply is working and not just by the light on the power supply.

If it's on a timer try unplugging it to see if it's a control cable issue. Manually turn the knobs and see if the light responds. If that doesnt do it check the power supply next, make sure the unit is getting power

Power supply reads ~19 v via multimeter. It’s getting power. Like I said, I have it apart now and can inspect the 2 circuit boards but not sure what I’m lookin for. Power wire is connected to board. Nothing appears burnt or discolored.

Hmmm. If it's getting power to the unit and there isn't a control cable connected and the circuit boards look good I would suspect the knobs are not functioning, or the leds are not functioning.

Unplug it and let it sit for an hour or two and then try plugging it back in and turning it on again. I don't remember what the problem was or why it happened but this has worked for me before.

If you have a LFS that run some Kessil or have a friend, take the unit to them and try their power supply it still could be the supply, it may not be supplying enough Amps.

Thanks guys. I was able to fix it! I used a different power supply and this seemed to jump start/reset it somehow. I switched back to the old power supply and now it’s working fine.

Ok, ok, you drive a hard bargain... I'll give you $52 for it as it is...

Double check that all of your power cord connections are tight in secure and pushed all the way in

Since we’re asking questions. Any idea what’s up with one of my 360we’s ? Just over a year old. To me it looks like one of the individual LED’s is flickering, a red led by the looks of the wall behind the tank. Any advice is appreciated

The video is real time not sped up. Hopefully this isn’t why my acros aren’t growing super quick.... lol

Unfortunately it looks like a diode failing when was the last time the light had a thorough cleaning you might want to contact kessil they may be able to do something for you

I use a duster can on them once a month. That’s about it :( yea I guess I better contact kessil. I just don’t know what I’ll do if I have to send it in, how do most people get by without light when they are doing repairs?
