Kessil a360x, do you have to buy the controller separately or can the light be used on its own? I cannot seem to find that info elsewhere. Thanks

Thanks, I did email kessil but had no answer. If I do need to get rhe controller aswell then I may give the red sea reefled 90 a go.

Without controller or dongle you can set color and intensity with knobs and put it on a timer I don't own one I've been trying to figure out between this light of xr15 g5

Great thanks for that. So really in order to have a nice ramp up and down Dawn to dusk you do need the extra controller. That really brings the price of that unit up! I've been out of the reef game now for about 7 years and only just getting ready for a new tank and alot has changed. I don't know the xr15? Who makes that? My other option was going to be the reefled 90 from red sea which seems a good unit with good features for the price.

Yes, you need the spectral x or dongle to unlock those features, but if you're running multiple lights (like me) then that's an extra expense avoided. You can find the controller second-hand most likely and save a little money.

if you decide to get the kessil a360x I would highly recommend getting the wifi dongle. its wireless and the screen on your mobile device is easier to navigate.
