I was one of the first owners of the Kessil A500x when released. It will grow SPS just fine and then some. It's super powerful and even bleached a couple of frags of SPS I had. It also comes with two reflectors of 55 degrees and 35 degrees.

If you search, I have PAR numbers on it too. Using the 55 degree reflector, 450 par was zero problem using that light.

Thank you! What were the dimensions of the tank you used it on? Did you have any supplemental lighting?

Anytime, glad to help. I had it on a small cube before I upgraded. It was a 24 x 24 inch cube. At one time I had the Kessil hanging 17 inches over the tank with the 55 degree reflector on and it was just too much for that small tank, lol.

On your size tank, If it were me, I would go with 3 for a bit of overkill. I did not have any supplemental lighting. Shadows are a given with Kessils and the only way around that would be to run some T5s on each side. The Hybrid fixtures they have would work well.

Let me know your thoughts and I would be happy to recommend something.

You would have 6 a500x over a 4 foot tank?? Or do you mean the smaller a360x?
i would do 6 of the a360x any kessil in my experience you need 2 to have the spread and output of a radion. i have no experience with the 500 but like any single point light source you will get shadowing without doubling up or using supplemental lighting
