Good afternoon.

So after some time away I have gotten back into the hobby. I downsized quite a bit, in the past I have had a 72 bowfront and 180 gallon reef. My 72 sprung a leak and I found that without having drains and fresh water lines nearby, the 180 gallon was just too much for my home office. I have since downsized to a waterbox 10 gallon cube. For a few months I only kept my clownfish. After a few months I felt as though my tank was ready for an anemone. I have kept bubble tip anemones with success in the past and had a good grasp on their care requirements.

What I am not super familiar with is my kessil light, in terms of power output. It was obviously fine for just the fish, and I have read plenty of good reviews, as long as the tank isn't too big for the light. I figured that the kessil A80 would be a perfect light for my 10 gallon tank. I currently have the light set for 50 percent color and 50 percent intensity, roughly. I added a bubble tip anemone and a Caribbean flower anemone. The flower anemone dug itself into the sand overnight, and the bubble tip looks ok, but is a little more recessed into the rock then I remember my old ones being.

Finally, here is my question, has anyone already found a decent set-point for the A80 light? The fact that my flower anemone dug itself into the sand makes me think my intensity is too high? I am very interested to hear what other people with this specific light have found success with. I am intending on renting a PAR meter to get some good values for this light eventually, but I am also curious to see what others have done.

I have one over an IM 10 and running 100% color and 100% intensity. All LPS from top to bottom and everything is doing well. Based on PAR review videos I watched before getting it, I would be shocked if you were getting more than 120 at the tip of your rock structure. I honestly have never measured the par in mine.

On another note, I have had anemone in my reef tank for as long I have kept them. They have moved to 350 par and been happy, and have others been happy at 100 at best. I would buy one that is kept in low par and you should be fine.
