Kessil Ap700 Help

So recently switched phones from an old HTC to a Moto Z3, downloaded the Kessil app but when I try and set up the connection it wont allow me to connect. When I try with my Z3, after I connect to the Kessil's wifi, it just says no internet and wont allow me to access the light. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?
 
Are you setting up to connect directly to the light or through your wifi router?

In my experience, connecting to router worked better than directly connecting. Not sure why.
So if you press the down arrow and plus symbol itll put the light into setup mode, go into the app and add new fixture, then select router setup and follow the instructions. Itll have you disconnect from your wifi and connect to the lights signal, you'll select your homes wireless network and put in the password, it should then automatically disconnect from your light and reconnect to your homes wifi and continue setup.
 
So the issue is that when i connect to the lights signal with my phone, it just says no internet and wont access the light. I just got home and will try the other method and see if that helps
 
Did you find the problem. I'm having the same issue with connecting. I can't get past the ' connect to Kessil WFi' step. It looks connected but
says no internet.
 
You won’t get internet when you are connecting directly to the light. The app walks you through it pretty much step by step, but the signal from the light is VERY weak especially during setup. I have found that when setting up the light and app that I need to have my phone within two feet of the lamp, and at the same height or higher than the light. Once it’s set, you can connect to it normally, but you have to switch your phones WiFi over to the Kessil. I found that my phone will auto connect to it, but drop it instantly as there is no internet. I have to manually select the WiFi each time. Ive tried going through my router but any hiccup and you have to restart everything and reconnect, which is a pain. Also, make sure to update the ap700 firmware via a laptop and the usb cable and update the app as well. Hope this helps
 
Manually connect to the kessil, you won't have internet. And then after your connected THEN open the app. If I open the app and then switch to the kessil network it doesn't seem to work as well. It takes a few seconds for it to load for me usually.
 
Well bumping this old thread again because once again the app just decided to stop connecting to the light. I go through the set-up steps but the app does not recognize that I am connected to the Kessil WiFi signal. I tired resetting both the app and the light but that did nothing, still can't connect. I am starting to regret getting this light. Emailed Kessil and hopefully they will be able to help. In the mean time I am open to suggestions...
