Kessil AP700 mount for AI: Hydra 26?

Hey there, I bought a AI: Hydra 26 LED light from my coworker and it didn't come with a mount. He had his own DIY mount for the lights, but I was looking at the mounts for the Kessil AP700 lights, and was wondering if those would work... They certainly seem like they would, but just curious if anyone has tried this. I might have to buy longer screws maybe, but if anyone has some different input for mounts, please let me know!

I was just considering the same thing for my sols. I was thinking one per light. I may just bite the bullet and if they don't work return them

So i would say AP700 mounting arm would definitely work. Gooseneck option cheaper though... if that matters.

Any of the mounts can be repurposed to fit the hydra26 with a little work since the mounting screws are in a straight line. I have RMS mount for my nano with a t-slot aluminum bar to adapt the mount.

Just be careful that the screws you use do not go down into the lights, the board can get shorted out. I used the kessel goose necks for reason that I did not want to wall, ceiling, or cabinet mount my lights. One other this is that I cut a 12 long x 3/4 id PVC to reinforce the goose neck so that the light would not fall in the water.

I used slightly longer versions of the stock flat tip screws. The larger head allows the light to slide into the t-slot rail, the same way the lights slide into the AI mounting rail.

By the way you may want to check out the AI Prime HD mounts. Can't find the post right now but someone here used it on their Hydra.

Think he said just flipped the top bracket. Also a cheaper option then the Kessil mount.

The Kessil AP700 mounts are so expensive for each mount. I was lucky to scavenge a dark corner of my store for very simple AI mounts, non adjustable, just two legs that fit on the side of the tank and mount the lights.

Right?! I was worried about that as well, the screws just barely get down in there... it's so ridiculous. But they work... not entirely happy with mounts, but they'll do for now, I guess. Should of just went with the AP700 mounts so I have a reason to upgrade soon.
