Hi all just purchased a kessil AP9X and will be installing it over a new to me waterbox 130.4.

I am moving up from a kessil a360we set at 15% on a 16g tank. I have mostly softies and LPS corals.

I was wondering what % color and intensity everyone starts at for acclimating the corals.

Thanks a bunch for the help all.

Current corals below. I'll also be adding my anemones as well

You'll wanna start slow for sure. I know there's an acclimate mode for whatever settings you've chosen. I'm no whiz at the light, I've got one mounted 15" over my 120 just so I can start slow and low and avoid hotspots wherever the two pucks hit the same spot. You're going from a 16g to a 96g so I'm assuming there's a bit of a curve there, depth and placement of corals PAR etc.

Thanks man! Do you know what intensity you started at like 5%?

BRS did a good video somewhere about a year ago w settings for Reef w 1 light, reef w 2 lights, how high, how far from edge, etc. Acclimation mode takes a minute to figure out but what it does is takes the schedule you have and then starts at a % of that times intensity. So if 9am you have 5% intensity on schedule and you start acclimate at 50% you will get 2.5% showing on that day and gradually it increases until full.

I'm running mine at 45 percent and going to slowly back down. Was sharing with a fellow very experienced reefer and he agrees that my colors are pale at the top. Distance from puck to top acros is anywhere from 16" to 20"
I'm using a seneye PAR meter and its showing 400+ at my peak setting.

How some people say they run these at 100% is beyond me.
