Kessil AP9X question

I recently noticed that my Kessil AP9X shows a light green all night in the DT despite being set to zero. I don’t have moon light on. Had this for six months and never noticed the green. Am I crazy? Or is it a “feature”?

Something is not right. It could be your programing or some glitch but the green should not be on. What are the settings at your starting and ending point?

I agree, it shouldn’t be on unless programmed. Also, reach out to Kessil directly, their customer support is awesome! @Kessil any insight?

I thought the same so I deleted my program entirely and reset to default. Then adjusted back to my levels. I max at 23% because it’s over a 40B with no sps. Attaching my photo periods. Thanks for the reply!

Just ordered AI Blades from brs. I liked the shimmer of the ap9x, but six months in I’m already having issues with Kessil. Think I’ll go back to AI.

really dumb question here but I have to ask. you are talking about a green led in the main cluster and not the green led on top of the light for wifi or power right?

I just swapped out 3 ap9x for Radion xr30 pro G6 last night and I was shocked at how many shadows were in my tank before and I also run two AI blades, 66" length on both sides of the kessils.

when I first turned on the Radions they come on 100% and my 40ish SPS frags/ colonies that I thought great under the kessils looked like crap under the Radions because of all the shading that the kessils had.

Correct, I mean the entire display tank is lit up at ~1% alllll night long. It’s very dim, but enough that I wasn’t able to sleep on the couch. (Brighter than the overspill from my fuge.) people keep telling me I should have bought Radions. Maybe next tank!

They are two different types/styles, so comparing them directly doesn’t quite work here. Point source lighting will result in some shading, so if it’s your only source of lighting (for acropora) then you’re going to need more fixtures. But if you want to get panel style LEDs, then I would get Reefi Uno Pro’s over Radions.

Update: I’m an idiot. Simple unplugged it, waited five minutes, plugged back in and It’s fine now. Probably still going to sell it since I’m not growing SPS. It’s pretty overkill for a 40 breeder. Thanks to those who responded!
