So I ordered 3 a360x to link into my Alex but only now finding out that I can't use them with it. Kinda feel like I waste the money since the regular earlier 360 could do it and I really hate to buy another controller. My question is can I link an older 360 to the x and run through apex by linking the older model to the unit then running an aux to USB C from that light into the x? These cords are what I'm thinking. I'm hoping if it will work I can get one of the lfs around me to trade one of the one I have for the other model. Other question would be if I could just run a usb c from the 360x directly to the aqua bus on the apex and have it work. There really not a ton of info iv found on the newer lights and this stuff and until I can the lights get here and I can see for myself how what will work I cant actually do anything to make sure I'm ready to install when they show thanx

The simple answer is no. There is currently no way of linking Kessil A360Xs to an Apex. In the future Kessil has announced plans to allow Apex control wirelessly through the WiFi dongle. So you would still need a WiFi dongle for Apex control. I would just buy and use the WiFi Dongle and then set up Apex Control later when it is an option.

I have no idea when Apex control will happen. I have it on good account Kessil is working on it but you never know when they will be done with such things.

Thanx doe the response it's just frustrating to spend the extra 100 per light only to find out that it wont do what the previous would and everything I could find on the lights before only talked about how nice they were and that you could like the other model to the apex with the cord(which I also ordered with it)

I run 4 of the A360X's. Their Kessil App (i use their dongle) actually works really well, I was initially irritated like you, but once the program was set in the Kessil App it works great, and there's nothing it would be able to do that it doesn't do now even if it was running through Apex.

With that said I personally spoke with Kessil, and they told me they were working on it and had it working there through Apex, but hadn't released it yet. But even when they do, you will need the Dongle to connect it to the Apex.

Well then I'll have to get a dongle regardless it seems but as long as that's it I think I can deal
with any luck i can find one in stock somewhere instead of ordering. Personally I hope it ends up being worth the investment though

I currently have 1 X and 2 regular 360s with a Spectral controllerX because kessil advises me it would be the best way to get both lights working together. I am very happy with the new 360X

Because the new lights have more control like moonlight, weather effects, and the added color channels Kessil could not use a 0-10v connection to control the X series lights. Instead they needed a data connection.

When I asked if they could have the lights simply plug in to an Apex USB port they told me that this would be impossible without adding an Apex module that could serve as an adapter. Similar to the AI Director and WXM modules. Since this would mean creating a new piece of hardware that would likely cost $100 they thought it would be better To simply use the already developed dongle as the intermediary.

While I don’t like waiting it makes sense. Get the dongle and enjoy for now.

Gotcha thanx for the input just hope they get around to it
