Kessil Dongle

Has anyone heard anything about a release date? I don’t want to buy the spectral controller if I don’t have to. Actually I’ll probably just put them on a timer for now. This is for the 360x.

They are coming out with wifi dongle to connect A360x to their app.

It was to be out by the end of 18 and there's no more info on it other then the little blip it got when the 360x was released.

Yes it’s also supposed to work with the apex IoT so you won’t have to buy a module or anything. I messaged kessil but only got back that they couldn’t release any info at this time...

any updates on this? Got a A360X and its sitting in the box while my tank is cycling. I have a few weeks before i absolutely need it. Hoping to hold off for the dongle

I asked Neptune Systems on their Facebook because they were talking about Kessil. They said they've asked, and Kessil has said they're working on it but haven't given a release date or time frame.

I'm kinda frustrated. Been waiting on it since I picked up an A360x in February.

Yeah in mid feb kessil told me they didn’t have a release date on it yet. When I asked Neptune about it they didn’t know either. Just that it wouldn’t need another module to run. I hope it’s soon as I’m not buying that spectral controller if I don’t need it.

Same here. I relished the loss of wires switching from two A160's to an AP700. I'm not about to go back.

A part of me wonders if they're having some trouble with the app. Also curious whether it'll be a new app or whether the same app that controls the AP700 will also be used for A360x.

I emailed them several weeks ago asking if they would make any announcements at Reef A Palooza. They said they were still working on it, and that I should stay tuned to their social media for updates. I wish they had just waited and released the lights and dongle same time.

Gotta love when David Lowry (brand and sales manager for Kessil) just laughed off that question when it was brought up on a Neptune livestream. So much for all that trade show marketing that took place before release, controller support soon!

I'm guessing Kessil was going to announce the dongle at MACNA because they announced they had a big announcement to make, but Saltwater Aquarium posted a picture of it on FB. Looks like they let the cat out of the bag.
