Kessil extended unit link cable

Ok, so I just recivied my new Kessil A80 LED. didn't relizie that I would be using it in the bedroom and not near my Apex system. That being about 30 feet away. Noticed the cable that came with the A80 looks like a standard ear phone jack. Is this true or is there something special about this cable that will need me to buy is special.

If it's to connect to an apex it is a special cable. But the end that plugs into the a80 is a standard 3.5mm head jack. So what you can do is buy an extender cable, kessil offers a 20 foot cable. And then you can pick up a 3.5mm connector pretty much anywhere that does electronics.

It's standard.
I picked up some extra cables at Best Buy.

I run an Apex too, but I use the Kessil Spectral Controller for my lights.

If you hook it up to Apex, I think you have to buy a special cable.

If I buy the special cable will the JR push my Kessil's, or would I have to buy an module?

I dont believe the Jr or the classic can without a separate vdm module. The new version has 2 0-10v outputs built into the control unit head. I should have asked the OP what apex version they had @billy joe ferguson

If you are running the APex JR you will need the VDM module, the classic has 2 VDM ports.

Thanks for the input. I've never used an apex so I'm not 100% familiar with them. Three years of reefing and I just last week picked up my first aquarium controller lol!!!

Nothing wrong with that, I probably wouldn't have one at all had I not got a good deal on the classic I have!

I really liked the spectral controller when I had my A360's as well. Very easy to use
