I an thinking about buying a JBJ 28 gallon cube and taking the hood off and add a Kessil light to it but I am not sure how strong. I am not planing on keeping any sps. Mostly soft because I want to put seahorses in it. I really love Kessil because of the colors and shimmer they put off.
Which light should I put over it?
Here are some ideas- (I want to keep the light as small as possible to keep the budget down)

Thanks:)

I am not sure if I put this in the right forum or not
Sorry if I did

I have a 150 over my 20 gallon and it's enough light for everything, SPS up top on the rocks, to softies on the sand bed. I have the Sky Blue 10k and it's a gorgeous color.

I just bought the kessil 160 for my 30 gallon jbj and so far I really like it, got the light, controller and goose neck on Amazon. Hope this helps.

I was actually looking at that exact setup. I was looking at the JBJ 28 gallon cube but I didn't like the look that much with the hood off. Then I found the 30 gallon that I love. That helps A LOT

I have a JBJ 30RL and run my Kessil
160WE Blue Tuna about 12" of the
surface of the water. I have 2 SPS, a Bird of Paradise from OR A and a Rainbow Monti and both are about half way up on my rock work at both are growing great and great color. And I am only running it at 55% intensity.. I really like this light. Hope this helps.

Hi, I am setting the same tank up today with same light, I'm having big problems with micro bubble and haven't even set up the protein skimmer, any thoughts? Help!!

And sorry baby Ray to use this thread to get help.

I with I could help but I don't know the answer myself
Do you have a powerhead to disturb the water yet?

Was hoping surfking would chime in as he has the same tank.

I've got a jbj nano 24 and ran a 150 with great success. Recent switched to a prime for the adjustability and I was never a fan of the amount of shimmer the kessil put out. Although I did like the color of the kessil, everything looked much more defined with it.

Growth is the same though.

Yes, I did get a small amount micro bubbles. What I did was filled the tank to just about 1/4" below the overflow in the back chamber. I also took out the 2 pumps and bought one That is adjustable and puts out the same gph as the two it came.with. The nice thing it is adjustable and has a foam inset at the intake of the pump which catches any bubbles. I just got a y adapter and then feed it to the 2 returns. Works like a charm. I also have my pump up on some egg crate to keep it off the bottom and stop any pump noise. When I get home I will try and post the link for the pump. Hope this helps.
