Kessil H160 LED Refugium Grow Light - quick review

Two weeks ago I installed the Kessil H160 with goose neck mount. First pic is the day of install, second pic is 2 weeks later. Pics aren't to scale to get the entire chaeto ball into second pic - in second pic you see that the chaeto ball completely hides the rock behind it that you can see in the first pic. First week I ran at 8 hours, then ramped up to 12 hours now.

Prior to install I had a Home depot "grow light" that grew chaeto 50% in 5 months. The the last 2 weeks it has growth 3x to4x size. Its impressive. If you get it, get the goose mount as it easily allows you to hang it right over your chaeto...

I have the H80 along with an additional led fixture as I didn't like the low PAR of the H80. But in time my macro algae has taken off quite well.

I like the 40 watts that the H160 has compared to 90w of the H380 seemed like over kill for my refugium section, about 14" by 20" or so in my sump. The H80 didnt seem like quite enough with 15w, but it sounds like it grows cheato too from above.
I actually put a sleeve on the H160 to spotlight the chaeto and discourage algae growth elsewhere. It looks like 5 times the size today. Now I need a better phosphate tester to see what the number look like.

what sleeve? was looking at getting this light and had the same algae concerns.

What intensity do you have it at? And do you have it on the “grow” setting?

I have this with just the red light working now. Will it still grow Chaeto
