Kessil H380 ballast really hot...fire hazzard??

My Kessil H380 ballast, mounted outside of the sump housing, is super hot. Has anyone else had this issue, is it normal?? I tried to do some research, saw that some magnetic ballasts run hot but I don't know if the h380 is a magnetic ballast? Not sure if "running hot" means that if you keep your hand on it for too long you'll get burned, or its just warm to the touch? None of the wires leading to or from the ballast feel hot, and the light is working just fine, but the ballast itself is really hot. It is plugged into my apex power bar. Last thing I want is a fire! Any experience / insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

I answered another thread about this same issue. Mine ran quite hot as well. Seems to be common. I have since switched to the H80 because the H380 was too strong for my sea lettuce and it feels a lot cooler.

It's not really a ballast ….. it's an AC/DC power supply. I've not noticed that mine runs especially hot; I'll check next time the light is on. All the kessil power supplies get quite warm to the touch.

Power supply for the H380 runs no hotter than any of the others. Quite warm to the touch, but way less than any combustion point.
